About me and my practice
Identifying mental health problems or illness may be difficult without a concept of mental health. One way of thinking about mental health and mental health problems is that they exist on different points of a continuum. Each of us may be found somewhere on this continuum at different points, at different times, for different reasons.
Emotional difficulties and mental health problems frequently coincide with life events such as relationship problems, addiction, financial problems, debt, work, moving home, transitions, childbirth, bereavement, loss and stress etc.
You will be faced with challenges and conflicts that can cause, loneliness, stress, anxiety, and depression.
During these times, your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, can begin to have an adverse impact on your mental and emotional health.
While some things will be outside of your control, some are not.
The way I work is to provide a safe, confidential space, where we would hope to build a rapport with one and other where you will have the opportunity to explore any issues or concerns that you may have. Between us we would explore any thoughts or feelings that you are experiencing, with the aim of helping you make more sense of what's happening, and to help alleviate the symptoms, e.g. stress, anxiety, depression, confusion etc.
The aim of your therapy is to develop a deeper understanding and awareness of yourself, and to find a place where you will be able to make healthier decisions so that you can enjoy life a bit more, and function at your optimal level.
Some of the problems that I have experience of working with, include, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, relationship problems, self harming, obsessions, bereavement, addiction, alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling, eating disorders, sexuality problems, Spending, Debt,Gaming, and Social Media problems.
I am a recognised psychotherapist with AXA PPP, BUPA, AVIVA, PRU HEALTH, and CIGNA. If you are covered for by any of these , you could be el

Additional Information
I integrate my theoretical knowledge of Psychotherapy, CBT, and addiction.
I give space to express previously suppressed feelings and thoughts which in itself is cathartic.
Psychotherapy is unique in that it is designed for the understanding of the person as opposed to the symptom or the particular diagnosis.
It is based on the psychoanalytic knowledge of the psychosocial development of human beings.
I tend to focus on the relationship as opposed to technique or procedure.
Psychodynamic therapy, also focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a persons present behavior. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are to help the client to develop further awareness of themselves and gain more of an understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour.
In its brief form, a psychodynamic approach enables the client to examine unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise from past.
